It’s official! Jamaica has the largest marathon in the world per capita. With over 22,000 participants, yes that’s 22 followed by three (3) zeros, the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run 2013 was able to raise 16 million Jamaica Dollars for charity on this its 15th staging.
The atmosphere this morning was the coolest I have ever witnessed at the event. The beautiful overcast morning was a dream come through for the droves of athletes and would be athletes that were in attendance.
With guest appearances by Jamaican Athletic celebrities: Olympic Gold Medalist Asafa Powell and the Most decorated Jamaican athlete the Hon. Merlene Ottey, spirits were high as the participants proceeded to burn calories for charity
Well done Sagicor on hosting another splendid event. Your dedication to the Jamaica’s Children remains evident in the organization and elegant touches you bring to the event.
